Call it Done!
Saturday Evening (Day 7).
And so we came to our last evening together. We’d booked back into Burnt Umber, a restaurant we’d visited earlier in the week. It was a lovely evening with many reflections on the week and many more discussions about when were going to do it all again!
At the end of the evening it was time for our final goodbyes. There were hugs and tears and lots of exchanging of addresses and other details.
A few of the artists had booked a few extra days in London and were planning to meet up for some sightseeing. The rest of us were heading home the following morning.
Before the week started, it was hard to know what to expect. But, whatever those vague expectations were - they were massively exceeded by a group of artists who came together and immediately bonded and then, collectively, embarked on a week of intense creativity, stimulating conversations and fun evenings, that eventually coalesced into a wonderful pop-up exhibition experience.
I was shattered but immensely proud of the group and what we’d all achieved.
Look out for the next issue of Contemporary Collage Magazine for an extended article on the week featuring the works created by the artists.
But for now, using Steve’s collage from our midweek challenge, it’s time to ‘call it done’.
Till the next time.
Les.
