Híbrido, the latest solo exhibition by multimedia artist Silvio Severino, unfolds as a vibrant exploration of identity, technology, and cultural collage. On view at GalleryX, the show presents a dynamic convergence of analog and digital techniques, weaving together photography, illustration, animation, and cut-out collage to construct a visual language that is at once playful, chaotic, and deeply reflective.

Severino’s work in Híbrido navigates the intersections of the personal and the collective, drawing from pop culture, queer identity, and contemporary societal rhythms. Each piece reflects his fascination with chance, randomness, and the unexpected collisions that occur when disparate elements meet. Influences from Dadaism and Surrealism are evident, but they are refracted through a distinctly contemporary lens, creating images that challenge perception while inviting curiosity and emotional engagement.

The exhibition also experiments with hybridity as a concept—blurring the boundaries between the physical and the digital, the spontaneous and the composed, the humorous and the critical. Through this lens, Híbrido becomes not just a showcase of collage, but a commentary on the fragmented, fast-moving world we inhabit, and on the ways art can reinterpret and reassemble the familiar into something startlingly new.

With Híbrido, Severino continues to assert himself as a leading voice in contemporary collage, offering audiences a sensory, intellectual, and emotional experience that lingers long after the gallery doors close.
